eBay has asked its users to change their password. The company has issued a press note to inform that it was hacked.
Hackers got access to some critical information about eBay users. It included their names, home addresses, date of birth and encrypted passwords. Further, it was informed that credit card numbers was safe as it was stored separately.
It was informed that the attack happened around late Friday to early March. It is surprising that eBay could detect this just now. Although, company has informed that no fraudulent activity has happened because of this. The company has planned to inform its customers to change their password and also on another websites where they have used the same password. The passwords were encrypted so it was unclear if they were misused or not.
