According to a document published by Edward Snowden and Glenn Greenwald NSA is secretly placing accessible backdoors in the routers before their shipping to overseas. (Companies like Netgear, Linksys, Cisco) According to the claim, NSA first physically tracks shipments and installs salacious software in each of those routers and re-pack them.
This is a serious claim as it raises a strong security concern for the internet users. The book ‘No Place to Hide’ has much more to say about this. But it is certainly not a good news for internet users using made in USA routers.
